Art is Erika’s happy place. It’s where the kid in her comes out and plays with a variety of different medias. She likes to use as much repurposed as well as natural materials as possible to challenge herself and reduce waste.

Her inspiration is a reflection of the love and respect she has for the natural world. She loves featuring local species, especially ones that are endangered and/or over-looked while adding a touch of whimsical humor to it.

This is why between the subjects she is intrigued by, materials she has in her studio and the purpose of her art always take on distinct themes. Every piece is handmade from the heart; and truly one-of-a-kind.

“I have always been a big proponent for the Earth and all its inhabitants. As a young girl I felt like I needed to be a voice for the voiceless. Now as a new PNW’er and experiencing the special beauty that exists here I feel the need to be the best steward of this land/sea as I can.”
