Takaya’s Legacy Project

A Victoria-based organization dedicated to promoting wolf conservation and education.

Takaya’s Legacy Project was established to celebrate Takaya, the famous lone wolf who spent eight years living on a small archipelago near Victoria, B.C. Takaya was shot and killed by a hunter in March 2020.

The organization seeks to share Takaya’s story with a wider community, and to end the recreational killing of wolves in B.C.. It also provides a platform to showcase the stunning and diverse collection of artistic tributes that have been created in honour of this remarkable wolf.

Takaya’s Legacy Project supports organizations like Pacific Wild that are working to protect wild wolves and their habitats.
